Two years after facing trial, Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi was acquitted from the assault case, which was registered with the Santacruz police in 2015. The Bandra metropolitan court on Monday observed that the evidences provided against Pancholi were not conclusive enough to prove him guilty.

Pancholi was charged with assaulting a bouncer outside a night club in March 2015. He was out on bail after paying bail amount of Rs 50,000 and since then he was going through legal trial.

The court observed that the evidences produced during the two-year term of the case were not so concrete to prove the guilt and hence the magistrate while acquitting Pancholi dropped the charges under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and section 504 (intentional insult) as filed against him by the Santacruz police.

In March 2015, Pancholi, who was accompanied by his friend at a nightclub in Juhu allegedly assaulted a bouncer of the club with his cell phone. He was arrested and a case was registered against him. But he was released on cash bail. Police reports say that Pancholi was under heavy influence of alcohol and over an issue of music being played by the DJ in the club.
