Akshay Kumar to visit Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi, here's why

Akshay Kumar is currently in the Maldives holidaying with his family. The superstar has taken a short vacation before kickstarting the shoot for his forthcoming film Ram Setu. As per reports, Akshay will give the mahurat shot for Abhishek Sharma directorial on March 18, 2021. For the same, the actor will be flying to Ayodhya and give the shot from Ram Janmbhoomi. After that, about 80% of the film will be shot in Mumbai.

Talking about the same, Abhishek said in a statement, "Akshay sir plays an archaeologist and his look and character is inspired by several Indian and international professional archaeologists who work in the field. In terms of both look and character, Akshay sir’s fans are in for a totally new avatar of his."

On embarking on Ram Setu journey from Ayodhya, creative producer Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi said, "What better way to embark upon the journey of Ram Setu than to kick-off at the very birthplace of Lord Ram."

He also shared, "Having visited Ayodhya several times myself, I suggested to Akshay and the team that we should launch the production schedule with blessings from the holy temple of Lord Ram. We are scheduled to hold our mahurat shot in Ayodhya and commence our filming on an auspicious note."

Talking about the safety measures during the shoot, producer Vikram Malhotra shared, "For Ram Setu, there will be strict protocols in place, including travel and stay bio-bubbles, frequent health checks and a professional agency on-board to manage these protocols all through. Given the complexity of the story and ensuing locations, VFX etc, the production will be spread across multiple schedules over the next few months."

Meanwhile, the makers of Ram Setu have roped in Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha as the female leads. Talking about them, Abhishek stated, "They both play strong, independent women with well-etched out parts. We are keeping their looks under wraps for now!"

The film is produced by Aruna Bhatia, Lyca Productions and Vikram Malhotra.
