Bizarre wording from NYT.
Updated : Sep 15, 2019, 11:50 AM IST
The New York Times hasn’t covered itself with glory in recent days, particularly its Kashmir coverage in which including an Imran Khan propaganda piece masquerading as an ‘opinion editorial’, which even threatened a nuclear winter.
On Sunday, they were again the subject of much controversy over a series of bizarre tweets which they retracted.
NYT Opinion, in a piece about Brett Kavanaugh wrote: “ “Having a penis thrust in your face at a drunken dorm party may seem like harmless fun…”
The line was rather bizarre when one considers that case where a fellow Yale student accused the new Supreme Court justice Brett Kavenaugh of sexual assault during a freshman year party.
Two minutes later, they deleted the tweet and wrote: “ “We have deleted an earlier tweet to this article that was poorly phrased.”
The retraction was later deleted as well and they wrote: “We deleted a previous tweet regarding this article. It was offensive, and we apologize.”
Kavanaugh was nominated by Trump last year and confirmed by the U.S. Senate, after televised hearings dominated by allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman in 1982. Kavanaugh forcefully denied the allegations.
What the hell is going on?

Having a penis thrust in your face without consent at a dorm party is sexual misconduct. And when Brett Kavanaugh did it to Deborah Ramirez, it confirmed he didn’t belong on the Supreme Court.

But I’m having a really hard time understanding how any decent human being could write a sentence like: “Having a penis thrust in your face at a drunken dorm party may seem like HARMLESS FUN.”
HARMLESS FUN?? Who the fuck is writing these tweets? This is so irresponsible @nytopinion. pic.twitter.com/RmLFdw5eBI
