China bans selfie sticks in museums to protect art

Chinese authorities have imposed a ban on selfie sticks in museums to protect art and keep other visitors from being disturbed by the sticks since they extend up to 1.5 metres in length.

Chinese authorities have imposed a ban on selfie sticks in museums to protect art and keep other visitors from being disturbed by the sticks since they extend up to 1.5 metres in length.

Tripods and monopods are also on the list of things banned inside historical places, reported the express Tribune.

However, cameras and taking pictures is allowed inside the museums.

The Nanjing Museum is the newest member of the no-to-selfie-stick club, joining the likes of National Gallery in London, the Colosseum in Rome, Smithsonian museums in Washington and the Palace of Versailles in Paris.
