LONDON: Bus loads of people travelled from Edinburgh and other parts of the UK to Glasgow to attend Indian yoga expert Baba Ramdev’s six-day camp there that began early Thursday. Billed as the largest yoga camp so far in the UK. The local office of Ramdev’s organisation, the Patanjali Yog Peeth (PYP) Trust, provided complimentary coach service from Edinburgh to Glasgow to enable as many people as possible to attend the camp.

“Importantly, the six-day event further supports Scotland’s drive to become a healthy nation and will unify communities across the country,” Sunita Poddar, member of the PYP (UK) Trust, said.

“The diverse turnout of all ages and background at our free on-going classes clearly indicates the keen interest shown by Scots in improving their mental, physical and emotional well-being,” said Poddar, who has donated 160,000 pounds to Ramdev’s organisation.

The yoga expert is also scheduled to hold camps in London and Coventry.
Baba Ramdev, who arrived here earlier this week after conducting camps in the US, was felicitated at the House of Commons by Glasgow MP Mohammed Sarwar, and other MPs, including Keith Vaz.
