Ekta Kapoor’s 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay 2' is all set to hit the television screens on September 10 and while Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan have already been finalised as Prerna and Anurag, there's still a lot of confusion on Komolika's part.
Speculations were rife that Hina Khan is the new Komolika but nothing has been confirmed so far. Producer Ekta Kapoor, it seems, is hell bent on keeping it a secret until the show finally premieres on screen.
To add to the confusion, Ekta shared a picture on August 13 featuring Urvashi Dholakia, Ankita Patel and Krystle D'Souza. The caption 'Taking tips from the gang on creating the new age mean girl! #komolika #fromtheformertothelatter', sparked rumours of Krystle having replaced Hina in the show. Next day, Krystle's instagram story from her vanity van added more fuel to fire.
In a recent interview, when asked who will play Komolika's part in the second season, Ekta said, “She is a big TV actress who has done positive roles, now you guess!” Well, it only confused us more as both Hina and Krystle have played positive roles in their television career.
Earlier in an interview, when asked to confirm her part in the show, Hina had said, “I won’t say it’s not happening, but I suggest let’s wait for the official announcement. Yes, I did go to meet Ekta and somehow people started to speculate, and it came to a point where they even confirmed that I’ve been roped in for the show, whereas I’m yet to sign anything. I mean you don’t know what talks we exchanged in a room and how it works, so let the makers make the final announcement.”
However, if a SpotBoye report is to be believed then it's Hina who will be seen reprising Urvashi Dholakia's part in the show. “Hina has already done the look test for the show and will be seen donning both Indian and western outfits. The makers will make a formal announcement soon,” the website qouted a source saying.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Parth, Erica and Hina Khan are in Kolkata for a week to shoot a sequence of the show. A source close to the show revealed, "Parth, with his onscreen parents Uday Tikekar and Shubhaavi Choksey, female leads Erica and Hina Khan who plays Komolika, will head to Kolkata for a week. The team has already started shooting the Mumbai portions last week at Killick Nixon studio.
Producer Ekta Kapoor is also in Kolkata along with the cast of Kasauti Zindagi Kay as she shared an image of Howrah Bridge on her Insta story and wrote, "Prepping for Kolkata. Jai Maa Kaali."
So then that leaves us with the question that what was Krystle shooting for. Turns out the actress was shooting for a pilot under the banner of SOL productions -- makers of popular shows like Thapki Pyaar Ki, Nach Baliye, Comedy Nights With Kapil and Ratan Ka Rishta.
