Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday accepted invitation of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to come on board as Goodwill Ambassador for the upcoming Rio Olympics.
He is now the third Goodwill ambassador after actor Salman Khan and ace shooter Abhinav Bindra. Salman Khan's appointment as a Goodwill Ambassador ruffled many feathers with likes of Milkha Singh among others publicly voicing their disapproval. They asked why sporting icons are not being appointed as ambassadors.

The IOA however defended their decision and said other eminent personalities have also been approached. Sachin was approached by IOA on April 28 and today he has confirmed his participation as a Goodwill Ambassador.
It is expected that Sachin will boost the morale of all the Indian athletes who will be taking part in the prestigious event.
