Dembele becomes the second most expensive transfer of all-time ahead of Paul Pogba.
Barcelona completed the signing of Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund on a five-year-deal for a club-record 105 million euros (96.86 million pounds) plus add-ons.
France international Dembele scored 10 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions to help Dortmund finish third in the Bundesliga last season. The team also won the German Cup.
Dembele arrived in Barcelona on Sunday and had his medical on Monday morning before signing the contract, which will contain a release clause of 400 million euros. He also was officially unveiled on Monday at the club`s Nou Camp stadium.
After Neymar, Dembele becomes the second most expensive transfer of all-time as the deal's add-ons will take him past the 105 million euros Manchester United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba last year.
"I am very happy to be here with all of you, one of my dreams has come true, that is to play in Barcelona. My goal is to integrate well in the team, to win the maximum number of titles and to join this club, I am very happy to play in the best club in the world with the best players in the world. My goal is to learn from the best in the world, like Suarez and Messi," Dembele said.
Dembele is expected to fill the void left by Neymar's tranfer. But he downplayed the comparison, "No, no, there`s a big difference between Neymar and me, he's a great player and one of the best in the world, I'm very young, it`s my second season as a professional. I try to improve and grow every day and I`m in this club to try to grow more."
When asked about playing with Lionel Messi, he said, "It`s an honour and a pleasure to have Messi in the team. I want to learn and see what he does, he`s a great player, the best in the world and in the history of soccer and I`m happy to be a part of his team, see how he plays and see how he behaves on and off the team."
