Lok Adalat to resolve 300 motor accident tribunal cases on Apr 12

One lakh different cases are pending; 125 panel members to hear litigants

Pune: Those who are fed up of doing the court rounds as their hearing pertaining to compoundable criminal cases are pending for few years, can approach the lok adalat which is scheduled to take place on April 12.
As many as one lakh cases pertaining to compoundable criminal cases, cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Motor Accidents claims, Compensation Act, Family court and other tribunals are pending. The cases related to deficiency in service, the due payments with the banks will also be held at the Shivajinagar court premises.
While addressing the media persons, principal district session judge S D Dharne said, “This time not only the cases which are pending in court but also the pre-litigation matters will be come for hearing. As many as 300 cases from motor accident tribunal have been kept in Lok Adalat and 125 panel members will be hearing the matters and will try to solve it. The litigants can take benefits of the lok adalat between 10 am and 6 pm. Not only the cases in which the summons have been issued but also the citizens who plan to settled the matter on the same day can approach the court with the opponent party and the matter will be settled.”
