SEBI Update: PAN will be declared invalid if not linked with Aadhaar before THIS date - Details inside

In the latest notification issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), any person that has been allotted the Permanent Account Number (PAN) on July 01, 2017, will absolutely be of no use if not linked with the Aadhaar card by September 30, 2021.

Security markets hold PAN as the whole and sole identification number for all transactions. According to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), all SEBI registered entities need to comply with the notification issued and accept only those PAN which is linked with Aadhaar number by the client, while opening new accounts post-September 30, 2021.

Citizens who trade in the security market are advised to do the above as soon as possible to enjoy hassle-free transactions. This is being done so that there is more security and another wall of verification to your profile. 

Here's how you can link your Aadhaar to PAN: 

- Visit Income Tax Department's e-filing official website: www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in

- Click on 'Link Aadhaar'

- Log in with relevant details and go to your account's profile setting

- Click on the option to link the Aadhaar card and enter your Aadhaar card number

- Finish the process and your PAN will be linked to your Aadhaar
