The managing director (MD) of Goel Ganga Group, Atul Goel said, “There was an infectious enthusiasm among buyers. There was a four-fold increase in the number of bookings today,” he said.
The chief of Kumar Builders, Lalit Kumar Jain said, “We saw 150 bookings on the first day itself on Friday for our newly launched township Ecoloch in Hinjewadi. People prefer to book homes on auspicious occasions for good luck.”
DSK Group’s DS Kulkarni said, “The bookings doubled on Akshaya Tritiya across all our projects in the city. The rush was during the first half of the day with people visiting our offices in traditional attire.”
Sales swelled in the automobile sector also. BU Bhandari Auto sales manager, Amol Soma said, “Over 60 cars of Volkswagen Polo and Vento models were delivered today. Our regular day sale is generally eight to 10 cars. The rush was more in the morning hours, although the entire day was considered auspicious.”
An official from Pashankar Auto Wheels Pvt Ltd said, “We sold nearly 42 units of Spark, Beat and Tavera cars on Akshaya Tritiya. Around 10 to 12 cars are delivered on a regular day.”
Tushar Vaidya, sales manager of Sai Service Station, Bajaj bikes’ authorised dealer said, “On a regular day we sell 40 units, but on Akshaya Tritiya sale was nearly 150 bikes.”
A partner of Ashtekar Jewellers, Pawan Ashtekar, said there was a huge rush of customers throughout the day. “The demand was for wedni (pure gold ring) and wedding jewellery,” he said.
