Maharashtra government announces Atal Chairs, fellowships in memory of Atal Bihari Vajpayee

While the state government would start 'Atal Chairs' at all the thirteen universities in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would provide a fellowship of Rs 10 lakhs each for 10 students who would pursue their PhD devoting it to thoughts of Atalji. A coffee table book would also be brought out by the BJP which would highlight life and contribution of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar informed media persons that BJP would organize a condolence meeting on Wednesday at NCPA in the evening to pay tributes to the departed leader. He informed that ashes and mortal remains of Atalji would be immersed in various rivers in Maharashtra as per Atalji's wish. 

His ashes would be immersed in 100 rivers all over the country and in Maharashtra, those would be immersed in rivers Savitri, Ulhas, Godavari, Panchaganga, Girna, Krishna, Krishna-Koyna, Mula-Mutha, Chandrabhaga.

Mungantiwar informed that Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Prakash Javadekar and BJP state unit president Raosaheb Danve along with a few invitees would speak during condolence meeting.
