Charas worth Rs4.62 crore seized in Nashik; two Tibetans held

National Narcotics Branch (NNB) of Mumbai today arrested two Tibetans and seized 66 kilo of charas (cannabis) estimated to be worth Rs4.62 crore from their possession after raiding three shops in the city's Tibetan market, police said.

On a tip off, a special squad of NNB arrived in the city early this morning and broke open three shops and recovered 66 kilo of charas kept there, police said adding the shops were later sealed.

The two accused identified as Tsering Tobaanee alias Jilebibhai (45) and Taming Sinon alias Chhotubhai (44) were produced before a local court this evening, which remanded them in police custody till February 23.

Police suspects that the narcotics was brought from Ladakh.
