The company we keep

He makes several trips to New York every year, a vacation which also doubles up as some alone time with his ailing grandmother Dina Wadia, but that’s not say Ness Wadia doesn’t  have a lively social circle to keep him occupied. The Wadia group heir seems to be quite popular with a certain section of celebrites in the Big Apple, and has been known to hang out with the likes of prolific society blogger and gossip page regular Dori Cooperman (pictured). The incorrigible fashion hound happens to be the daughter of  Edwin Cooperman, former chairman of Travelers Bank Group, but is better known for striking up a close friendship with troubled Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan while they were at the same rehab centre.

There’s enough to suggest that Cooperman is trying to turn the page after she was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of cocaine, but she remains a fixture party, club and charity scenes in Manhattan, the Hamptons, Miami and LA. We’re assuming that her hob nobbing with Ness is more a social intercourse than any close friendship, but a word for the wise ­— for someone so concerned about his image while socialising in India, some more discretion is  advisable during private overseas trips — even if you think no one is looking.
