Sixteen-year-old Aditi Sanghi was a second year student of Bachelor of Computer Application at International College for Girls situated at SFS Mansarovar
A sixteen-year-old student of a city-based girls’ college who was also an experienced rock climber and a trained instructor, fell from the sixth floor of the college building resulting in her death on Monday morning. The girl was taking part in rock climbing exercises being conducted at the college under supervision of certified trainer who happens to be her father. The victim’s dad saw his daughter slip and fall from the building to her death in a matter of seconds.
Sixteen-year-old Aditi Sanghi was a second year student of Bachelor of Computer Application at International College for Girls situated at SFS Mansarovar. “On Monday morning, a rock climbing and mountaineering demonstration was being conducted in the college. The trainer - Sunil Sanghi - was conducting the exercise around 10.30 am. The man had a team of which his daughter - Aditi - was also a part. Although Aditi had already conducted a demonstration, after finishing it she went back on the terrace of the building and stood among the group,” officials investigating the case said.
Aditi was waiting in the group while another girl was rappeling down the rope. “While she was waiting, the girl suddenly slipped and fell six stories down the building. She tried to catch hold of the rope but could not hold on to it falling on the ground below. The entire incident was caught on camera and the incident created panic in the college area,” officials said.
Meanwhile, the girl’s father was stunned for the next few seconds, while the college administration rushed out. “Aditi was rushed to nearby hospital, however, the girl could not be saved. In his testimony to the police, the man has said that it was an accident. A post-mortem was conducted and the dead body was handed over to the family members,” officials said.
