West Bengal: Concrete slab breaks off from railway overbridge, 1 dead

In another shocking incident, a lady died when a concrete slab broke off from a railway bridge and fell on her head. The accident happened in Baruipur railway station in South 24 Pargana district near Kolkata. Another person has been injured in the accident. 

According to Zee 24 Ghanta report, Ashima Pramanik was going with her kid for puja shopping. She took an autorickshaw from her house to reach Baruipur station. There she was going to platform number 1 from platform number 4 to reach the shopping market. Just as Ashima was crossing below the railway footbridge, a slab fell on her head. She died instantly on the spot in front of her daughter. Another person was severely injured in the accident. GRP and RPF have rushed to the spot and the body has been sent to Baruipur hospital for postmortem. A pall of gloom has descended in the area as locals try to fathom how a young person died in a freak accident. 

Majerhat bridge in Kolkata caved in recently and three people died in the accident. After that Mamata Banerjee said that audit will be done as many bridges have exceeded their expiry period.
