Uttar Pradesh bypolls: Yogi Adityanath attributes victory to collective effort of BJP

A total number of 88 candidates were in the fray for the 7 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. And about 53% of the voters had exercised their voting rights.

The Bharatiya Janata Party looks poised to win 6 of the 7 bypolls assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. According to the latest report, BJP has won 3 seats and is leading on three others. While the Samajwadi Party is leading on one seat.

While speaking to the media on Tuesday, November 10, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called the BJP victory in the state teamwork of senior party leaders and workers. 

He further said that it is a testimony of the hard work that the Bharatiya Janata Party has put during the COVID-19 times. 

According to the latest report, Shrimant Katiyar has won the Bangermau seat, while Sangeet Chouhan, wife of late minister Chetan Chouhan emerged victorious from Naugavan Sadat. While the Tundla seat has been won by Prem Pal Singh.

By-election was held in Uttar Pradesh for 7 assembly seats of Naugaon Sadat, Tundla, Bangarmau, Bulandshahr, Deoria, Ghatampur and Malhani on November 3.

A total number of 88 candidates were in the fray for the 7 assembly seats and about 53% of the voters had exercised their voting rights. 

Some exit polls had predicted  5-6 seats for the BJP and 1-2 seats for the Samajwadi Party. While the Bahujan Samaj Party was expected to get between 0-1 seats.
