Two convicted in bank fraud case

Special CBI judge Bela Trivedi sentenced the bank manager and cashier of the Union Bank of India Mahuva-Krishannagar branch to four years of imprisonment in a Rs9.63 lakh fraud case.

Special CBI judge Bela Trivedi sentenced the bank manager and cashier of the Union Bank of India (UBI) Mahuva-Krishannagar branch to four years of imprisonment in a Rs9.63 lakh fraud case.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs80,000 on the duo while acquitting two others, Arvind Pandya and Bhawik Pandya. The convicted were RH Parikh the bank manager and Mukesh Pandya the cashier-cum clerk.  

CBI counsel, RS Meena said, "The special CBI court convicted the two on the basis of statements given by 26 witnesses and documentary evidence produced in the court."
