Reliance Jio Fibre launches on September 5, Here is how to register for the broadband service

 RIL chief Mukesh Ambani earlier this week announced that the company will soon launch Jio Fibre services commercially across India.

Addressing the 42nd Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) in Mumbai on August 12, the conglomerate's Chairman and Managing Director said, “From starting September 05, 2019, we are launching Jio Fibre services commercially across India.”

The company has said the price for the broadband plan will start from Rs 700 per month and will go up to Rs 10,000 per month.

Jio GigaFiber will use a fiber optics network rather than the old fashioned cables used by other internet service providers (ISP).

It is also expected to offer dual-band wifi routers which may increase internet speeds.

Even though the company has not divulged the details of the plans, it has revealed the details about how a customer can register for Jio Fiber service.

Steps to register for Jio Fiber:

1. Log on to the official website - gigafiber.jio.com - and enter the address, mobile number, and email ID. 

2. After entering all the necessary details, an OTP will be sent to your phone.

3. After entering the OTP on the website, the user is required to enter the address and put the correct location of the address on the map.

5. After entering all the necessary details, a Reliance Jio executive will call you regarding where the registration will happen to start the installation process.

6. The person is required to keep the original proof of identification and address proof at the registration meeting.
