In a direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that Friday's no-confidence motion was a battle between their morality versus the majority of the ruling BJP.

Naidu said that the PM did not rise to the occasion in addressing the concerns of Andhra Pradesh in his response to the no-confidence motion moved by his party.

Naidu extensively listed out the 'injustices' meted out to this state government by the centre by denying special status and stopping the flow of funds for completion of national projects.

Naidu brought out two reports chronicling the failure of Centre in fulfilling the promises and assurances made to Andhra Pradesh during the 2014 general election and even after BJP was voted to power. Naidu also rebutted the Prime Minister's remarks against him made on the floor of the House on Friday and termed them as painful. "It is very painful. How can he compare us (TDP) with tainted people? It is a party that is in court everyday facing corruption cases," Naidu said.

His rebuttal came in the backdrop of PM's remark that TDP moved the no-confidence motion falling in a trap of YSR Congress. The AP Chief Minister also questioned the PM's failure to act against YSR Congress' corruption cases and said that the PM was associating himself with tainted people like G.Janardhana Reddy.

Naidu also criticised PM Modi for calling TDP immature and for praising TRS' work in Telangana. "It is not good for a Prime Minister to speak like this. I became Chief Minister before him in 1995", Naidu said. He added that the people of Andhra were wounded, deeply hurt due to the injustice done to them. "Despite all challenges, Andhra Pradesh is the fastest growing state and we are at the top."

While talking to reporters he refused to speak out on a possible alliance with Congress for the 2018 general elections. But, he added that TDP will certainly play a role at the national level and pointed out that he was influential in forming the United Front government.
