A source familiar to Sonia’s lifestyle says how as kids, they used to play cricket together. “It was always known that Imran (Sonia) is not a normal person,” said the source, requesting anonymity. Sonia as Imran studied in a good school and even attended college to complete her studies.
He also informed that Sonia shifted to Mirzapur from her family home in Jamalpur after she became a eunuch. “Her mother is a government employee. She and a sister live in Jamalpur even today,” said the source. According to the source, prior to officially becoming a eunuch in 2003, Imran was involved in Men having Sex with Men (MSM) relationships.
However after becoming a eunuch, Sonia became not only a renowned figure in the city, but the nation as well after she contested in Lok Sabha elections against LK Advani. She also stood for assembly polls from Shahpur constituency.
“She had an aggressive campaign, not to win the election but to garner media attention,” said the source.
After her brief stay in the ‘limelight’, Sonia gained enough confidence and plunged into the murky world of crime. She eventually ended up as a ring leader of a gang having several members who indulged in brazen extortion activities from areas under her ‘jurisdiction’.
