Jammu and Kashmir Police save four youth from joining terrorist ranks

Cops have requested parents to come forward and report any such activity of their wards so that they are mainstreamed through concerted counselling.

Two youths from Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district and two from the Budgam district were prevented from joining terror ranks after they were apprehended by the police.

SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal said, “Two youth hailing from Batwina and Kurhama areas of Ganderbal, who had left home to join militancy were being brought back. He added, “Ganderbal police succeeded in bringing back these two youth. He said Parents of both the youth were unaware about their activities.”

Similarly in Budgam, the police also claimed that they have prevented two youths from joining terrorism.

A Budgam police handout read, “Acting on a specific information  Budgam police prevented 2 youth from joining terrorist ranks. Both the teenagers ( name withheld) had left their houses and went missing on  14th March. As soon as this information was received, police teams swung into action, and traced both the boys in Tral area of Awantipora. Both the boys are in their early teenage, and had got influenced on social media. They were instigated by Pakistan based recruiting handlers through social media handles. Later on after thorough counseling both the boys were handed over to their parents."

The police have requested parents to come forward and report any such activity of their wards so that they are mainstreamed through concerted counselling by experts.
