In its most current forecast, IMD issued a Red Alert for Gujarat and predicted significant rain there that could exceed 8 inches (204 mm).

IMD predicted that West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Odisha and Bihar could witness rainfall until 22 September in East India. Rajasthan has experienced rainfall in several cities.

From September 19 to 22, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura in northern India are all expected to experience severe rainfall. This week, Chattisgarh may have light to moderate precipitation, while southern Indian states like Tamil Nadu and Kerala may also experience it.

A monsoon trough and the development of a cyclonic circulation will cause significant rainfall activity across various districts of Odisha over the course of the next four days, according to the IMD.

In Odisha, it foresaw a thunderstorm with one or two lightning strikes over 22 districts in the upcoming 24 hours. For the following two days, the IMD issued a Yellow Warning (be updated), and for the following two days, an Orange Warning.
