Bihar has become the first state in the country to release caste census data for the first time. In this census, the population of each caste and their share in the total population of the state has been mentioned.

Although it was also being said about this census that economically weaker and affluent castes will also be mentioned in it, at present no information has been given about it. The report of the caste-based census of Bihar has been placed before the country. It has been said that in Bihar.

  • The total population is 13 crore 7 lakh 25 thousand 310
  • In which the share of general category is 27.12 percent
  • Scheduled Caste share is 19.65 percent
  • Scheduled Tribe share is 1.68 percent
  • Backward class share is 27.12 percent
  • The share of the extremely backward class is 36.01 percent.

Looking at the real objective of the caste census in Bihar, it can be said that the move made by Nitish Kumar about 15 years ago is going to be very useful for him in the next elections.

In Bihar, the share of the extremely backward class, created during the reign of Nitish Kumar, is more than all other classes. This is the reason why the leaders in power in Bihar are happy and according to them, the step of the caste census has been historic.
