Reacting to former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Yogendra Yadav?s open letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Congress and the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Sunday backed the former, while saying that he had raised his opinion very late.

?Yogender Yadav raised this issue very late. The Congress has already called for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal?s resignation following the Shunglu committee report. I thing the AAP should be suspended and a fresh elections should be proposed,? Congress leader J.P. Agrawal tod ANI.

BJP leader Shyam Jaju attacked the Delhi Chief Minister, while saying that soon people of the national capital would discard him.

?Be it Kejriwal or Yogender Yadav, they don?t do what they say. People have clearly seen that they didn?t live up to the promises made before coming to power. Nobody trusts them. The people of Delhi are going to take decision in the coming days. Lies do not last long,? Jaju told ANI.

Yogendra Yadav yesterday launched a scathing attack at Kejriwal just a day before the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls.

Yadav wrote an open letter to the AAP supremo and challenged him to win at least 50 percent seats in the MCD polls to remain eligible for governing Delhi.

Yadav told Kejriwal that "you have converted your popularity into a sort of referendum in tomorrow's MCD elections. Your party is asking votes in your name and even AAP's name is missing from the election hoardings."

"The AAP's internal survey says that your party is winning 218 seats in the MCD polls. I have one offer: if you get majority (137 seats) in all the three MCDs then I will concede that people of Delhi don't consider you as a cheat," Yadav wrote.

"If you lose within two years of winning 67 assembly seats out of 70, then it is the demand of the morality that you resign from the post of chief minister and your government should again seek the confidence of Delhi's voters on the principle of 'recall', which you mentioned two years back at Ramlila Maidan," the letter added.

Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yadav alleged that it is only Kejriwal who was responsible for providing a comeback to the corrupt BJP in the MCD polls.

"I have travelled to nooks and corners of Delhi. Mounds of garbage are everywhere, sewers are blocked. Everyone knows the first responsibility is of the BJP, which is ruling MCD from last ten years. But, many voters, who voted for change in 2015, are going back to the BJP," said the letter.

"I have come to a conclusion that you are responsible for betraying the trust of Delhiites, who have started thinking that they aren't able to differentiate between good and bad," said Yadav, adding that "I am forced to say that you have committed this crime (breaking the trust of Delhi's people) due to your arrogance, self-centeredness and lust for the chair."
