After recovering from coronavirus, former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein faces a new sexual assault charge which is likely to cost additional four years in prison. He is already serving 23-year sentence in a prison near Buffalo, New York, for rape and sexual assault.

The new case points out towards an alleged assault at a Beverly Hill hotel room in 2010. Harvey is accused of 'sexual battery by restraint' against the woman in the hotel room on May 11, 2010. After being interviewed by detectives in October 2019, the woman was able to provide evidence showing that the incident did take place.

Prosecutors had to file the charge since the 10-year statute would expire next month. Weinstein is likely to serve four years in prison additionally if the charges are proven. He would serve 27 years in prison if proven guilty.

Two other charges were to be levied on him but the victims have refused to testify against him. One such victim had testified against him on February but refused to do the same on March 31, 2020, thinking it would re-traumatize her, states a report on Variety. The prosecuter thus reviewed eight allegations against Weinstein but brough in charges in three of them.
