Rani Mukherjee on marriage rumours

Actress Rani Mukherjee doesn’t deny that she will get married eventually but she insists that it is not anytime soon.

“I have been married off far too many times before. So these rumours don’t come as a surprise to me. I can only say that there is no truth to all this. I will make a proper announcement when such a thing comes up. I am more concerned with the work that I have at hand,” she said.

Though Mukherjee doesn’t seem to be interested in talking about her marriage rumours, she is categorical when it comes to her work life — she would like to experiment with all kinds of roles rather than stick to a genre.

According to Mukherjee, she has become even more engrossed in her work than what she used to be before. “It’s very important for an actor to keep growing. I want to experiment with all kinds of cinema. When it comes to commercial cinema, it is very important that you are able to fit into a large number of roles. I still feel that there’s a lot that I haven’t done,” Mukherjee says, adding, “it’s the script and the film that makes all the difference. We can only make a character come alive on the screen and that is exactly what I choose to give my 100% into.”

Mukherjee says that her latest role as a journalist is a role that she had planned to essay for a long time now. “I wanted to play a character like that. She is in-your-face and aggressive in her work. I did follow a few examples when it came to my homework. But it’s in the plural, there’s no single journalist that I tried to emulate for this role,” she says.

Mukherjee adds that the abuses she mouths in the film is just the way her character would normally speak in that situation. “If you say that this language is not commonly used in aggressive conversations, then perhaps we all would be lying. My dialogues are logical and of course, realistic,” she ends.
