Thalapathy Vijay is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming movie Leo and fans are eagerly waiting for an update about the movie. Meanwhile, another surprise that Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay is all set to make his directorial debut has thrilled the actor’s fans. 

Who is Jason Sanjay? 

Jason Sanjay is the son of Thalapathy Vijay. Born on August 26, 2000, in Chennai, Jason Sanjay completed his schooling at American International School, Chennai. For his higher education, he went to pursue a diploma in filmmaking in Toronto, Canada followed by a BA in screenwriting in London.

Jason Sanjay was featured in Vijay’s 2009 hit Vettaikaaran. Helmed by B. Babusivan, the movie also starred Anushka Shetty. Jason made a special appearance in his father’s movie. Reportedly, Thalapthy Vijay earlier told the media that his son Jason had already received multiple offers but he rejected them to pursue filmmaking. 

Jason Sanjay’s short film 

While Jason was learning filmmaking abroad, he made a short film with his friends and college mates as cast titled Pull The Trigger. The short film went viral on social media and the fans too gave a thumbs up to the short film.  

Jason Sanjay's Directorial debut 

On Monday, Lyca Productions took to their Twitter and shared interesting news for Vijay’s fans. Sharing a picture with Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay, the production house wrote, “We are beyond excited & proud to introduce #JasonSanjay in his Directorial Debut We wish him a career filled with success & contentment carrying forward the legacy!” 

Talking about making his directorial debut, Jason said, “It’s an honor to get the opportunity to direct my first film for a prestigious production house like Lyca Productions. It has been a hub of encouraging talents and has created a stream of new filmmakers. I am glad that they liked my script, and have given me complete creative freedom to materialize it. We are now in talks with the emerging stars of the industry and some happening technicians.” 

He added, “I thank Subaskaran sir for this opportunity, which gives me immense excitement and huge responsibility coalescing together. I also take this opportunity to thank Mr. Tamil Kumaran who had been of very great support to visualize my dreams of being a director.”
