Lady Gaga will join the list of celebrities who will be taking part in a gay pride parade in Rome's Circus Maximus to draw the curtain on the ‘2011 Euro Pride’.

US ambassador to Italy David Thorne issued a statement saying he was ‘very proud to have an Italian-American artist of her stature'’ come to the Italian capital.

‘Thorne’ and the local organisers of ‘Euro Pride’, which takes place each year in a different European city, invited the pop star, reports the CBS News.

The 25-year-old ‘Born this Way’ star has been a vocal supporter of gay rights, speaking out against the ‘Don't ask, don't tell’ policy in the US military.
