NTA NEET 2021 entrance exam: Latest updates students need to know - Details inside

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to relase the NEET 2021 qualifying cut-off along with the result of NEET 2021 entrance exam. The candidates who will manage to clear NEET 2021 entrance exam will only be allowed to apply for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BVSc and AH courses. It is to be noted that NEET cut-off is the minimum percentile and scores which a candidate need ti secure to qualify the exam.
 
It may be recalled that the NTA has already announced the qualifying cutoff percentile but the cutoff scores/ marks will be declared by NTA along with NEET 2021 entrance exam result. 
 
Category wise NEET cut-off percentile is as follows:
 
Category                 Cutoff Percentile
General and General- EWS 50th percentile
SC/ST/OBC                 40th percentile
 
The NTA takes into account various factors while determining the cutoff. Some of the factors are listed below:
 
Number of candidates appearing for NEET 2021
Total number of seats available
The difficulty level of the NEET exam
NEET previous years’ cutoff trends
 
The NTA will use NEET 2021 cut-off to prepare the merit list for admission. The counselling for NEET will be conducted based on the qualifying cut-off and scores.  Counselling for admission to 15 per cent all India quota (AIQ), deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMC institutes, AIIMS and JIPMER colleges will be conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The admission process for 85 per cent of state quota seats and seats in private colleges will be conducted by state medical authorities.
 
NEET 2021 entrance exam is scheduled to be held on September 12, 2021, in offline mode. NEET entrance exam is conducted for admission to 542 medical, 313 dental, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc and AH colleges in India.
 
Meanwhile, it is expected that the NTA would release the NEET 2021 entrance exam admit card next week and the candidates will be able to download NEET 2021 admit card using their registration number. The NEET 2021 entrance exam admit card will be released on NEET's official website.
