Maharashtra SSC, HSC Exams 2021 CANCELLATION: Latest updates students must know

Amid the rising coronavirus COVID-19 cases, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) or Maharashtra Board has decided to postpone the SSC, HSC Exams 2021. However, soon after Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSe) announced its decision to cancel Class 10 exams altogether and postpone Class 12 exams, many people are now demanding that Maharashtra Board should also cancel Class 10 board or SSC Exams 2021 in the state.

While many stae boards are yet to cancel the boards exams, several are following the decision taken by the CBSE. CISCE or Council for Indian School Certificate Examination on Tuesday (April 20) announced its decision to cancel the Class 10 Board Exams or ICSE Exams 2021. 

Telangana Board has also cancelled Class 10 Board Exams 2021, while Meghalaya Board and some other state boards have only decided to postpone the exams.

Around 18 lakh students are expected to appear for the Maharashtra SSC Board Exams 2021 and another 16 lakh for the Maharashtra HSC Board Exams 2021. 

Meanwhile, a total of 2.59 lakh new cases were recorded in India in the last 24 hours, taking the overall tally to 1.53 crore. The latest data from the Union Health Ministry show that 1,761 new fatalities were reported in 24 hours across the country. The 1,716 new fatalities include 46 from Jharkhand.
