Delhi: Four-year-old boy rescued from Nepal after three months

A four-year-old boy was rescued safely by Special Staff of Northwest district from Nepal after he was kidnapped from outside his house in Rampura almost after three months back.

The accused woman has been identified as Sonam, who is originally a resident of Rupandehi, Nepal. The woman had kidnapped the boy on April 5 from Rampura, Keshavpuram.

The accused had hatched a plan of kidnapping the child 3 years ago. Sonam had a desire for a son which remained unfulfilled due to her health complications. She even told her family in Nepal that she had given birth to a male child.

She kept a watch over the child for three years and on April 5, she kidnapped the child while he was playing on the street outside his home and escaped to Nepal.

The missing child's family registered and complaint after which the investigation was handed over to the Special Staff of North-West district.

During the investigation, police found the CCTV footage in which a woman was seen directing the boy to follow her. The woman was identified as Sonam, who stayed in the same area.

During surveillance, it was revealed that the accused woman and her husband moved towards Gorkhapur, Maharajgang in UP after kidnapping the boy. With elaborate planning, multiple raids at various hideouts of the accused were conducted. During one such raid, a relative of the accused woman's husband, a resident of Maharajganj was apprehended and interrogated. He disclosed that Sonam, along with her husband Sonu, was staying in Nepal.

The local police of Maharjganj district then contacted the Nepal Police and briefed them about the case. The Nepal Police conducted a raid in Dugoliya village and recovered the child, who was later on handed over to the Delhi Police at Sunauli Border.
