As the situation in the country has worsened due to the rise of COVID-19 cases, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has faced backlash, however, despite all, several star cricketers and IPL franchises came forward to help the cause.
The likes of Pat Cummins, Brett Lee, Sachin Tendulkar, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise, etc. have come forward to help India fight versus the second wave of the novel coronavirus.
Now joining the bandwagon is the three-time runners-up Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The side has also come up with a special effort to raise money for oxygen support and other essential stuff.
The RCB franchise is set to don a special blue colour jersey to pay respect and show solidarity to all the front-line heroes. RCB wrote, "This season RCB is going to be sporting a special Blue jersey in 1 of the upcoming matches with key messaging on the match kit to pay our respect & show solidarity to all the front line heroes who have spent last year wearing PPE kits & leading the fight against the pandemic." It added.
RCB has identified key areas where much needed help is required immediately in healthcare infrastructure related to Oxygen support in Bangalore and other cities, and will be making a financial contribution towards this. pic.twitter.com/jS5ndZR8dt

On the eve of their clash versus MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK), RCB's Twitter handle had also shared a video where the players urged people to take the virus seriously.
"Hi, I am Virat Kohli, as a captain I try to lead from the front and help people around. I request all of you to do the same, sanitise your hands, step out only if necessary and wear your masks at all times."
Later, AB de Villiers joined in and stated " Hi, it's AB de Villiers, you cannot wait for a superhero when the going gets tough, you need to be the superhero. With the Covid pandemic, the best way to stay safe is by staying at home. Together, let's survive these tough times."
Stay Home. Stay Safe.

While it comes to IPL 2021, RCB have had a good start and have played 7 games. They sit at the third spot with 5 victories.
Bengaluru will next lock horns with Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday (May 3). They had easily defeated KKR in the previous face-off earlier this season.
