Rishabh Pant has had a great run in Test cricket since his debut earlier this year in England. He went off the mark in Tests by smashing a six the second ball he had faced during India's Trent Bridge match against England.

Last month, Pant created history after he equalled the world record for most catches taken in a Test in the first Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series against Australia in Adelaide.

Pant, who claimed 11 catches in the opening Test, has impressed Aussie cricketer Glenn Maxwell.

Maxwell, who is not a part of the Aussie squad playing India in Tests, right now is leading Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League but has opted out of the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) because of Australia's packed ODI schedule ahead of the World Cup 2019 in England.

He's an amazing talent. We have only seen him scratch the surface in terms of his ability. "I've been glued to my TV every time he's come out to bat ... if he does get going, it's pretty good to watch," Maxwell heaped praise on Pant.

Maxwell is impressed with the way Pant keeps "reserve-scooping balls with a straight bat" and is in awe of the Indian keeper-batsman's flexibilty.

"He's extremely talented ... he played some extraordinary innings for us over there. He got an amazing hundred, where he just kept reserve-scooping balls with a straight bat, over third man for six.

"I think he was a gymnast growing up, so he's extremely flexible. He can manipulate his body into different positions to hit the ball," Maxwell added.
