Team India after a horror half an hour last evening resumed their innings on 125/4 amidst inclement weather and after a couple of breaks the match finally went on and despite losing the wicket of Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja stitched an unbeaten stand of 46 runs for the sixth wicket to take their side beyond England's score.
Rishabh Pant began the session in his usual style hitting a boundary towards the covers and after the rain interruption hit a four and a six off Ollie Robinson as he wanted to take the attack to the opposition and make something happen, but it was one shot too many as a push off the backfoot lobbed up in the air in the same over and he departed for 25.
Ravindra Jadeja then joined Rahul when India were still 38 runs behind England's total and had half their side back in the pavilion. The left-hander took his time and let Rahul dictate terms before he got his eyes in.
Rahul with a drive through the covers and a single here, a couple there went into the 70s. The duo took India over England's score into the lead and remained unscathed before the lunch at 191/5.
