The President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Roger Binny, and Vice-President Rajeev Shukla have touched down at Amritsar Airport in Punjab, commencing their visit to Pakistan for the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2023. The two eminent cricket administrators are expected to grace the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for the crucial match scheduled for Tuesday.

Their presence in Pakistan materialized following a cordial invitation extended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and other cricket boards to attend this prestigious tournament.

Vice-President Rajeev Shukla was quick to clarify that their two-day visit holds no political agenda whatsoever; it's purely a cricket-oriented endeavor. He emphasized, "This two-day visit is purely from the point of view of cricket, nothing political. A dinner has been hosted, and three formidable teams - Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh - will be participating”.

Roger Binny, embarking on his first visit to Pakistan since 2006, expressed his excitement about the trip, saying, "I am looking forward to my visit, as we've been to Colombo to witness matches in Sri Lanka.”
Addressing the notable absence of the Indian team from touring Pakistan and the potential for future tours to Pakistan, Rajeev Shukla conveyed, "We will adhere to the guidance of the government. Whatever decision the government makes, we will abide by it.”

The 2023 Asia Cup is a highly anticipated cricketing event jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The tournament, running from August 30 to September 17, features an exciting lineup of teams.
