Team India's nemesis in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, Kyle Jamieson was at it again as he proved to be New Zealand's best bowler on the show with whatever help he was getting from the surface in the first Test in Kanpur as led his side's comeback in the second session of the first Test.
Jamieson was the one, who provided New Zealand the first breakthrough as he troubled Indian opener, Mayank Agarwal. Agarwal looked tentative at the start against the moving deliveries and eventually gave in as Jamieson dismissed him for 13 runs.
Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara got their side through to lunch as the former made a well-compiled half-century but after lunch, it was all Jamieson show.
Jamieson produced an absolute jaffa to get rid of Gill in the very first over of the second session. He kept troubling the duo of Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane.
Pujara was sent back by Tim Southee. Rahane and Iyer stitched a decent partnership to rebuild after India lost two quick wickets but teh former was eventually after some wait for teh Blackcaps was dismissed by Jamieson, becoming his third scalp of the day.
Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja helped India get through to tea with no more casualties as India scored 72 runs in the second session losing three wickets.
