On November 24, 54 member Pakistan team reached New Zealand which included cricketers and support staff to take part in a series against New Zealand from December 18. The team failed to adhere to all restrictions and as a result at least 10 players tested positive. On the 1st of December, the first corona test results came out and on that day there were 72 positive cases in NZ. Out of these, 13 per cent were from the Pakistan team. Now just imagine how Pakistan team’s carelessness has weakened New Zealand’s fight against Coronavirus. New Zealand imposed the strictest border control measures when the pandemic first broke out and they have been the only leading country in the world that has managed to tackle both the first and the second wave of the coronavirus despite some setbacks initially. Here is a look at the sequence of events as to how Pakistan has caused a major coronavirus problem for New Zealand.

Pakistan team had to stay in a bio-bubble since reaching New Zealand, which means they are not allowed to step outside or meet anyone from outside the premises of their hotels and stay in a secure environment. The Indian team itself is staying in such a bio-bubble in Australia for their Test and limited-overs series. Pakistan team failed to adhere to the rules, they kept meeting each other, shared food and didn’t follow protocol. As a result, 10 players were found positive and New Zealand authorities didn’t allow the team to practice. New Zealand health ministry issued a warning that they will be sent back home

Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-haq started off a new debate that Pakistan players are under mental pressure due to their prolonged stay in bio-bubble. Discipline is important for any sportsperson but by not following these protocols the Pakistan team have shown how undisciplined they are. You can judge their fitness and judge their sporting spirit as well…when abroad sportspersons are shining light for their nation and become soft power of their nation and their players have ashamed the entire nation. Pakistan has a total population of 21 crore while New Zealand has population of 50 lakhs. In that way, Pakistan is at least 42 times bigger. However, in Pakistan the positivity rate is 7.26 percent while in NZ it is only 0.15 percent. Imagine what a huge difference

Event 7.26 percent might be wrong because exact figures are not available. Pakistan positivity rate might be much more in reality
