Who is Ananya Tripathi, Byju’s-owned WhiteHat Jr CEO who has resigned from her post?

Ananya Tripathi, the CEO of the online coding provider WhiteHat Jr, has resigned from her post. Her exit marked another top-level exit at India's most-valued startup. The beleaguered company is a subsidiary of Byju's. Tripathi has been on maternity leave since May this year.

She was appointed the CEO of the company in April 2022. According to Moneycontrol, citing sources, she has decided to leave, but BYJU's hasn't accepted her resignation formally and is still attempting to persuade her to stay. In Tripathi's absence, Arjun Mohan has been assisting the team.

Who is Ananya Tripathi?

Tripathi had been serving as the CEO of WhiteHat Jr since April 2022. Before joining WhiteHat Jr, she was the Managing Director at KKR Capstone. Tripathi also served as Myntra's Chief Strategy Officer for nearly four years.

She also worked at McKinsey for almost seven years. She holds a post-graduation degree from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode. She started her career as a Software Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in 2005.

BYJU's paid USD 300 million in cash to acquire WhiteHat Jr in August 2020. Karan Bajaj, the founder of WhiteHat Jr, received one of the largest exits in India's startup ecosystem as a result of the transaction. Bajaj remained as CEO of WhiteHat Jr until August 2021, exactly a year after the company was acquired.
