AWPL renamed Candela Labs, unveils new IP labs, chatbot solution

In the backdrop of a re-branding drive, AWPL on Monday announced its new corporate identity, reflecting the company?s transition to help enterprises in the insurance and banking industries to embrace transformation to the digital era.

The company, which will henceforth be known as Candela Labs, is a technology provider in existence for over 20 years, working with top insurers and banks. The company has achieved a growth rate of over 60 percent in the last year, expanding presence in South East Asia and Africa.

The new direction will see Candela Labs set up IP labs in Singapore and Johannesburg - to develop solutions that leverage cutting-edge technology, including AI and Machine Learning, and solve real world problems. The company also unveiled a new chatbot solution that enables a smarter dialogue between the financial services provider and their customers.

As part of the re-structuring, Candela Labs also announced the expansion of their executive team. Vijayakumar Muthiah (formerly with Mphasis), has joined as the CFO and Kala Rau (formerly with Wyndham Worldwide) as the Chief People Officer.

The new strategy and re-branding initiative is spearheaded by Arsh Maini, who joined Candela Labs as Chief Executive and principal shareholder in June 2016.
