Saroj Khan has been buried in Malad's Malvani qabrastan at 7 am. The veteran choreographer died after cradiac arrest on July 3, 2020 around 2 am. Her nephew Manish Jagwani confirmed to PTI. Saroj Khan's daughter, on the other hand, informed that her prayer meeting would take place three days later.

“We buried her at around 7 am. The prayer meeting will be held after three days,” Saroj Khan’s daughter Sukaina Khan told PTI. The veteran choreographer was receiving treatment in Bandra's Guru Nanak hospital. She was admitted there after complaining of breathing problems.

Saroj Khan was admitted to the hospital on June 20, and was expected to be discharged since she was recovering well. On June 24, 'Hum Tum' director Kunal Kohli had also confirmed that she would be discharged within a day or two. However, Manish confirmed news of her demise on Friday.

The 71-year-old is survived by her husband B. Sohanlal, son Hamid Khan and daughters Hina Khan and Sukyna Khan. The three-time National Award winner had some renowned songs like Madhuri Dixit's 'Dola Re Dola', 'Ek Do Teen', 'Chane Ke Khet Mein' and Kareena Kapoor Khan's 'Yeh Ishq Haaye' to her credit. Working with Bollywood for over four decades with over 2000 songs, Saroj Khan had last choreographed Madhuri in 'Kalank' song 'Tabah Ho Gaye'.
