Viewers will get a glimpse of Ayushmann Khurrana in the teaser of his upcoming release, Article 15, today. The Anubhav Sinha directorial is inspired by true events and unbeknownst to many, it is based on the Badaun (Uttar Pradesh) rape case that made national headlines in 2014. Since the heinous crime took place on May 27 that year, the movie’s makers decided to release the teaser today to mark the fifth anniversary of the gruesome incident.

The first look of Ayushmann as a no-nonsense cop was unveiled a few weeks ago and was received well by the audiences. The makers have taken the title from Article 15 of the Constitution of India, which prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. Recently, it was announced that the film, which also features Isha Talwar, M Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, will premiere at the 10th edition of the London Indian Film Festival. Moreover, the investigative drama, produced by Anubhav and Zee Studios, will also be the opening night film at South Asia’s largest festival.
