Alia Bhatt is all set to be a Sanjay Leela Bhansali heroine for the very first time in Inshallah. She is paired opposite Salman Khan and it's even her first outing with him. But before starring in SLB's film, we got a glimpse of Alia in a grandeur set courtesy her latest film, Kalank. When the teaser of the film was dropped, people drew comparisons with the sets of SLB's film and even the makers of Kalank called it as a tribute to the ace filmmaker.

Recently, on a radio show, when Alia was asked about this comparison of Kalank and SLB's films, she stated, "Yes, it's more Bhansali like but actually, technically speaking, no one has really touched that world except for Sanjay Leela Bhansali. And Abhishek (Varman) himself is a very big self-proclaimed, self-confessed fan. So he is very inspired by him. Even when I met Sanjay sir I told him please tell me what do you think about the teaser and he really liked it."

While Varun Dhawan said, "Even when I met him when he knew about this film, he said, 'Mujhe koi kuch poochta hi nahi hai (nobody asks me anything). Madhuri-Alia together, I would love to work on a song, give music to a song on them.' I had in fact then asked Alia that what did he say to you when he saw your song."

To which Alia replied, "No, no he was very encouraging and honestly he also understands that even though people are telling (comparing) he said he has a world of his own. It's his world...so that was very kind, a magnanimous thing."

Kalank released on April 17, 2019.
