Naseeruddin Shah is also shooting for his film 'The Daughters' in Agra.
For the last schedule of Aanand L Rai directorial Atrangi Re, the team has headed to Noida earlier this month. Now, the leading cast including Akshay Kumar, Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan will be kickstarting the shoot of the film in Agra from Monday. Not only Atrangi Re, but there's one more film which is set to be shot in Agra. Titled The Daughters, the film stars Naseeruddin Shah and Ira Dubey in the lead roles.
Meanwhile, talking about Atrangi Re, in the film, Sara will be seen playing the double role. The actor has been shooting for the film not only locations in South India but also in the North. A few days back, Akshay and Sara were clicked on the sets of the film in Greater Noida. Fans couldn't contain their excitement to see the actors shoot for the film in the busy streets.
Akshay took to his Instagram page and shared a slo-mo video in which he is seen wearing a Mughal attire and holding a red rose in his hand. The actor is twirling with Taj Mahal in the backdrop. Akshay captioned his video stating, "Wah Taj! #AtrangiRe @aanandlrai @arrahman @saraalikhan95 @dhanushkraja #HimanshuSharma @tseries.official @cypplofficial #CapeOfGoodFilms."
Atrangi Re went on floors earlier this year in Banaras. However, the shooting was stalled after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Soon while adopting the new normal, Sara resumed the shoot with Dhanush in Tamil Nadu. Whereas Akshay joined the sets in Greater Noida.
Talking about the shoot, Rai had earlier said, "Yes, I’m really excited to start the next scheduled planned for October in Madurai. I have the full support of the cast and crew. We are hoping that things will improve by the time we are ready to shoot."
He also said, "Rather, during the lockdown, I got a lot of time to prep for the upcoming schedule. We will be filming outdoors, but it’s going to be a very organised shoot... We will try to wrap up in the minimum time possible."
Atrangi Re was earlier slated to release during Valentine's Day weekend in 2021.
