As the summer season has started setting in the city, the mercury levels on Friday crossed 36 degree Celsius. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the mercury is about to cross 38 degree Celsius in the next two days.

So far, the temperature in the city has remained pleasant and was not too harsh. But in the coming days, the temperature is likely to rise. The Met department in its bulletin has mentioned the rise in the maximum temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius very likely over the region during the next three days.

On Friday the maximum temperature in the city was recorded 36.6 degree Celsius which was the highest so far in 2019. the minimum temperature was recorded 19.7 degree Celsius which was a degree below normal.

For Saturday, the Met department forecast dry weather with clear skies.

The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 38 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature could be around 20 degree Celsius.

Weather was dry in all the districts of Gujarat. On Friday, day temperature rose appreciably in parts of Saurashtra and Kutch.

There was no large change over Gujarat region and in remaining parts of Saurashtra region.

They were below normal to appreciably below normal in past of South Gujarat region.

Night temperature rose appreciably in parts of Saurashtra and Kutch.

There was no large change over the Gujarat region and remain regions of the state.

Rising temperature has brought juices and summer fruits on the streets.

"Every season has some good thing. Summer is the best because of mango which has arrived in the market, but the streets are full of sugar cane juice and watermelon fruits. These are the best things to beat the heat," said Firoz Malek, a resident of Paldi.
