Gujarat: Man arrested for filming minor in washroom

The accused has been identified as Rushikumar Parmar, 29, a resident of Satellite, and right now preparing for competitive exams.

On Monday morning Vastrapur police arrested a 29-year-old man from Satellite area for trying to film an eight-year-old girl in a Crossword bookstore washroom located in the Mondeal Retail Park.

A complaint was lodged with Vastrapur police on March 18 by the victim's father. The accused has been identified as Rushikumar Parmar, 29, a resident of Satellite, and right now preparing for competitive exams. As per police officials, Rushi used to go to the book store for reading every Saturday and Sunday.

On March 17, as usually he was at the store and was going through some books. When he saw the eight-year-old going inside the washroom, he followed her. Rishi tried to prop his cell phone into the washroom from the little open space beneath the door.

Fortunately, the girl noticed it, she started to scream for help and started shouting at Rishi who was behind the door. Rishi fled from the spot immediately.

A complaint was lodged with the Vastrapur police against him. Through the CCTV footage of the store, cops managed to identify the accused and he was arrested in the matter on Monday. Inspector MM Jadeja of Vastrapur police station said, "We nabbed him from his residence. We have also seized his mobile."
