Forecast predicts light rains in Ahmedabad

Across the state, the highest rainfall was recorded in Kaprada in Valsad that got 61 mm of rainfall followed by Nandod in the Narmada that got 57 mm of rainfall.

Several parts of South Gujarat received heavy rains on Saturday even as Ahmedabad continued to wait for a good shower.

The city got a measly 5.24 mm of rainfall on Saturday with the highest being recorded in the North zone that on an average got 13.17 mm of rainfall. Area-wise the highest rainfall was recorded in Naroda that got an average of 17.50 mm of rainfall. While the rainfall may have been measly the city did report one of two incidents of cave-in. One was reported on the BRTS route near Hanuman temple in Maninagar. The met department, meanwhile, has predicted a cloudy sky with light rains for the city in the coming days.

Across the state, the highest rainfall was recorded in Kaprada in Valsad that got 61 mm of rainfall followed by Nandod in the Narmada that got 57 mm of rainfall. The department has predicted light to moderate rains for the state in the coming days.

The state has so far recorded only 30.74% of its annual average rainfall of 816mm while Ahmedabad city has seen only 17.9 % of its annual average rainfall so far.
