Pakistan continues to give safe haven to terrorists: Nikki Haley

Days after US President Donald Trump slammed Pakistan for having provided safe haven to Osama Bin Laden and justified the aid cut to the country, the outgoing American ambassador to United Nations Nikki Haley said that the country continues to harbour terrorists and that Washington shouldn’t provide further aid.

In an interview to The Atlantic, Haley said, “Giving them over a billion dollars, and they continue to harbour terrorists that turn around and kill our soldiers — that’s never okay. We shouldn’t give them a dollar until they correct it.”

Haley’s response came to a question by The Atlantic’s Uri Friedman over her opinion of America’s role.

“We don’t need to be giving money to countries which say ‘Death to America’. We don’t need to be giving money to countries that go behind our back. We don’t need to be giving money to those that don’t want to be our partners, because there are a lot of countries which do want to be our partners, and we just need to be smart about it.”
