It’s annoying when there is a change in the plan at the last minute, but what if that happens on the day of your wedding? That is the case at a wedding in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The wedding was called off at the 11th hour as the groom tested positive for COVID-19. The groom’s procession was set to march to the bride’s residence and at that very moment the groom’s report had come in and it showed that he tested positive. He had undergone a test on May 22 and the reports came in on May 24.

COVID blues got a meaning in Bakcha village which comes under the Sisolar police station where Dharmendra Singh's wedding procession was ready to make its way towards the bride’s place in Asgaha Tamura village. The district authorities came in due time after they were informed about the groom’s report and the police team stopped the procession. Soon, the groom was taken to the district’s quarantine centre.

Dr Anil Sachan, in charge of Maudaha community health centre, told The Times of India, "The groom has been quarantined at Sumerpur quarantine centre. We conducted an on-the-spot COVID test of his family members and as well as other guests and asked them to isolate themselves at their respective homes for nearly 10 days.”

The family members are all set to reschedule the wedding once Dharmendra is out of quarantine.
