TV actress Shagufta Ali, known for her roles in shows like 'Saans', 'Bepannaah' and 'Sasural Simar Ka', recently revealed that she had to sell off her assets to survive while adding she has been going through a financial crunch since the last four years and is struggling to make ends meet.

After the news of Shagufta seeking immediate financial help to survive and pay for her and her mother's medical bills went viral on social media, several celebrities have come forward to help her in this hour of need.

Recently, Shagufta who has been battling depleting finances due to her ill health and no work, received financial aid of Rs 5 lakh from actor Madhuri Dixit on behalf of the team of the reality show 'Dance Deewane 3'.

Shagufta even made an appearance on the show and spoke about her journey over the last 3 decades in the industry and the struggles she has faced in the last four years. And while talking about her journey, Shagufta broke down in tears as Madhuri Dixit offered to help her on behalf of the entire team.

Madhuri Dixit extended a cheque of Rs 5 lakh and hugged Shagufta who appeared rather emotional on the show.

Shagufta Ali said in Hindi, "The last 32 years among the 36 years have been wonderful. I struggled a lot, worked a lot too. I supported my family and myself. But in the last four years, several auditions took place, a lot of things happened but nothing was working out. During that time, the problem with my leg increased because of diabetes, which also affected my eyes. I don't know why but I couldn't tolerate the pain of these four years." She is also heard saying as tears roll down her cheeks, "The industry is my home, I have given 36 years to it."

Madhuri then walked up to Shagufta and consoled her. She said, "You had written that you have nothing to even sell right now. You have reached such a stage today, so from the Dance Deewane team, we would like to do something for you. From them, I would like to give you a cheque of Rs 5 lakh."

Shagufta replied, "Thank you so much. I have no words," while accepting the cheque with gratitude.

Meanwhile, Shagufta Ali confirmed that filmmaker Rohit Shetty has contributed a generous amount to help her. Shagufta told Pinkvilla, "It was done immediately, and I am very very obliged. I am so grateful and so thankful to him. God bless him for whatever he has done for me. He has never met me, we have never ever come face to face, I have never spoken to him on the phone, and he went all out and did something like this. I am absolutely grateful. The doctor is busy so I’ll be taking his appointment next week, and my treatment will begin again.”

Before this, Shagufta Ali had shared that Cine And TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) had reached out to her but she couldn’t take their help as they offered a very negligible amount. The actress also said she approached actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood to seek monetary help from him only to find out that they don’t offer financial assistance but only provide services.
